PICCADILLY FM is a wall-mounted audio device built from salvaged 1973 Piccadilly Line components including a reclaimed handset for listening and a rotating disc selector for choosing a music zone that broadcasts curated radio mixes from seven distinct music communities along the line.By working with youth groups and Transport for London, I learned some of the issues that young people in today’s society face. To give young emerging artists a public platform outside of algorithm-driven streaming services, to preserve and celebrate the musical heritage of communities along the line.
